Volunteer with Us
As we have started the year remotely, there are changing guidelines and protocols for what volunteering looks like in our school community.
Please see below for the current CPS guidelines and an approval process for all individuals looking to volunteer in the school and for the various opportunities.
If you have the time and passion to volunteer, but prefer to work mostly from home, perhaps you have the skills and experience to help with some of the following tasks: Website management; Email communication; Public relations; Grant writing
Please contact your child’s classroom teacher directly to volunteer your time for ongoing or one-time classroom needs.
Stay tuned for volunteering information upon a return to in-school learning.
Local School Council
The LSC, Local School Council, is comprised of 6 parent representatives, 2 community representatives, 2 teacher representatives, and 1 non-teaching staff member.
LSC meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month.

Agassiz Building Community (ABC) has merged with Friends of Bulldogs (FOB)
This year, our parent group (ABC) and FOB have merged into one cohesive organization in order to resume a strong parent community presence during this challenging year. The mission of our parent group has remained the same: to act as a support system and source of information for parents; to encourage and facilitate greater parent involvement and volunteering; to maintain a channel for parent input to school policies; and to provide support for our great teachers.
Stay tuned for updates about virtual meetings and events.
Each classroom has a room parent which is a critical piece of building community within a classroom and as a school.
Room parents work directly with the teacher on a number of classroom activities, events, and projects.
Friends of Bulldogs (FOB)
FOB is an all-volunteer organization that needs help from many parent volunteers throughout the year to plan, organize, and manage various events and fundraising efforts. Volunteers are needed to:
- Identify and contact potential sponsors
- Organize and manage events
- Set-up and clean-up
- Manage ticket and concession sales
- Take on other duties and projects as needed
Please contact Patti Lenkov (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information on FOB.
