Volunteer with Us
The mission of this organization is to act as a support system and source of information for Agassiz parents; to encourage and facilitate greater parent involvement and volunteering; to maintain a channel for parent input to school policies; and to provide support for our great teachers at Agassiz. This group meets monthly (usually after drop-off on the first Wednesday of the month) to discuss school-wide topics, coordinates teacher appreciation efforts, and facilitates mentoring of new Agassiz parents. All parents are welcome.
Friends of Agassiz
FOA is an all-volunteer organization that needs help from many parent volunteers throughout the year to plan, organize, and manage various events and fundraising efforts. Volunteers are needed to:
- Identify and contact potential sponsors
- Organize and manage events and assemblies
- Set-up and clean-up
- Manage ticket and concession sales
- Take on other duties and projects as needed
If you have the time and passion to volunteer, but prefer to work mostly from home, perhaps you have the skills and experience to help with some of the following tasks: Website management; Email communication; Public relations; Grant writing
Billingual Advisory Committee
Agassiz’s Bilingual Coordinator, Ms. Tanabe, encourages parents in bilingual families to meet and discuss their hopes and needs the first Wednesday of each month from 3-4 PM in Room 306. Topics of discussion include ESL services, annual assessments, and the formation of a Bilingual Advisory Committee at Agassiz.
Please contact your child’s classroom teacher directly to volunteer your time for ongoing or one-time classroom needs.
Agassiz needs reliable volunteers to perform regular weekly tasks such as stuffing Tuesday Folders and popping popcorn
